The Yukon Government is intending to regulate Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for automotive wastes, such as oil, filters, antifreeze and automotive containers.

Yukon is proposing to implement a suite of EPR programs by 2025 under Our Clean Future, and they are currently consulting on their approach. The Yukon government has identified oil, oil filters, antifreeze and containers as priority products to be added to their proposed new regulation. The Yukon government has stated that the Yukon program will be modelled after the program in British Columbia. The BC Used Oil Management association is proposing to expand its member services to include the Yukon and is in the process of developing a program.
