Reporting of automotive containers has been required in British Columbia since January 1, 2026. Following further engagement with members, collection partners, and other producer responsibility organizations, Interchange has completed its review and will implement fees effective October 1, 2026.
The Automotive Container Fee Schedule and BC Applicable Products List are available on the Interchange Recycling website. Members should review these resources and ensure reporting and invoicing systems are updated before October 1, 2026.
Members must continue reporting applicable automotive containers through the Vault by:
- Product type (e.g. oil, antifreeze, windshield washer fluid)
- Container size (e.g. 1 L, 4 L, 18.9 L)
- Packaging type (e.g. HDPE, Bag-in-Box, PET)
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support as we implement the automotive container program in accordance with BC’s Recycling Regulation.
