As the first EPR Plan to be officially approved by the Yukon Environmental Protection and Assessment Branch, Interchange Recycling’s Yukon program will launch on August 1, 2025. The Yukon program ensures that products from the territory, such as lubricating oil, antifreeze, diesel exhaust fluid, oil filters, and automotive containers are collected and managed responsibly at the end of their life cycle.

As Interchange prepares for the program’s rollout, they are working closely with local partners to establish convenient collection services, including a permanent public collection site in Whitehorse. These efforts will provide businesses, consumers, and industry stakeholders with clear and accessible recycling options, ensuring that obligated materials are diverted from landfills and processed in an environmentally responsible manner.

More details, including collection site locations and program guidelines, will be shared in the coming months.

All organizations doing business in Yukon are asked to Register with Interchange Recycling by completing the Yukon Participation Agreement and submitting it to accounting@interchangerecycling.com.
