As of August 1, 2025, the Interchange Recycling program is officially live in Yukon, following the approval of Interchange’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Plan by the Yukon Environmental Protection and Assessment Branch.

This program ensures that products such as lubricating oil, antifreeze, diesel exhaust fluid, oil filters, and automotive containers originating in the territory are responsibly collected and managed at the end of their life cycle.

Interchange is working closely with local partners to provide accessible recycling services, including a permanent public collection site in Whitehorse. These efforts support businesses, consumers, and industry stakeholders by offering clear options for recycling and helping divert obligated materials from landfills in an environmentally responsible way.

All organizations doing business in Yukon are encouraged to register with Interchange Recycling by completing the Yukon Participation Agreement and submitting it to accounting@interchangerecycling.com.
